Established in 1997

Our Background

Malindi Education and Development Foundation (MEDA-F) is a Local NGO that started as a Community Based Organization (CBO) in 1997 with a vision of a society in which all are educated and committed to education and development. MEDA-F’s founding mission is to be the leading organization promoting quality education and sustainable development through awareness, advocacy and community empowerment, Guided by integrity, accountability, professionalism, and respect for diversity, tolerance, equity and equality. 

School Dropout

Kilifi County

Many young people drop out of school to become beach boys while girls are lured into early marriage, or commercial sex workers. Drug abuse is rife.

Have combined to deny many young people a chance in life. Thus Malindi Education and Development Foundation established three livelihood major projects in improving the living standards of the young people and people with special needs.

Supporting Government Projects

 

MEDA Foundation plays a pivotal role in supporting government efforts to roll out education strengthening programs in the community. Through its social workers and a network of volunteers, MEDA Foundation creates awareness and advocacy through interventions such as puppetry, participatory theatre, career exhibitions, community factual films, stakeholder forums, intercultural dialogue and distribution of IEC materials.
