The Sindbad Park
The Children Play Centre is a land mark project at The SINDBAD Park. It is a unifying venue for all Malindi people regardless of their tribe, religion or business status, especially during weekends, public & religious holidays. It’s a picnic place for many nursery schools and lower primary schools children. Families have started to make it a weekend outing area for their children and even themselves. MEDA-F in collaboration with other stakeholders (e.g. KCDF, Business people in Malindi, etc.) has invested close to 5 Million shillings in making different swings and games within its capacity to make the Malindi Community children have a place to play and enjoy as they learn and grow.

Security Goal
During public holidays, MEDA-F operates the SINDBAD PARK until 8pm. The organization would like to extend the time but lack of a perimeter wall has been a hindrance in view of security concerns for the visitors a majority of whom are children. We strongly believe with a well secured boundary, we will be in a position to extend the use of the park to even 10pm or beyond.

Transformation Goal
MEDA –F hopes to work diligently at transforming the Children Play Centre into one of the leading modern amusement parks in the country. The space can accommodate more modern play games and the organization is seeking resources to purchase them from such places as China or Turkey. Discussions are on-going to transform the park into one of the best venues for water games in the near future.
